Best Toys in the House

With holidays around the corner, Hadley and Holly share their SURE-THING toys in their house. Tell us yours.

Hadley: Barbie Charm School Princess, $19.97
"It's an obvious one but Barbie. She has staying power like no other. All of my girls, ages 9 to 3, play with them. Along with just the regular 'let's play dolls', they will build her cardboard cars, a bed out of legos or a new wardrobe out of fabric scraps and paper
."

Holly: Magna-Tiles 32 Piece Set, $59.95
"My boys have played with Magna Tiles almost daily, without fail. The fact they are magnetic makes it easy for our 4-year-old to build some pretty elaborate structures. They mix the tiles with Play mobil and other blocks for the ultimate creations. Lightweight and easy to pick up makes mom happy."

  3. In our house we are block lovers. The kids have gravitated to different types of blocks by age: Kate (2) loves the KidO colorful blocks, Hays (5) is into the larger cardboard blocks for building forts and Eliza (7) has gotten really into the CitiBlocks.

Anything that they can build (including LEGOS) is a hit in our house.

At our house we are big fans of Bey Blades, Shut the Box, Remote Control Hex Bugs and prank kits for boys and American Girl Dolls, Flying Turtle, Safes with a combination, make up and art kits for girls. I'm also thinking about a pogo stick for this year.

My 2 1/2 year old son will spend hours at the felt board - the hungry caterpillar felt set and some homemade felt dinosaurs are perfection to him

  9. My 4 year old daughter loves playing with her wooden dolls with a kazillion clothing and accessory options the magnetically adhere to the dolls (think reusable paperdolls). She plays with them in the colorful wooden dollhouse (that doesnt take up much floor space in her little room.
